Physical Appearance
Coloration: Unlike the wild grey type, Lutinos have a lack of melanin, resulting in white to pale yellow plumage.
The "Cheek Patches": They retain the iconic bright orange-red circular spots on their cheeks, which look even more vibrant against their light feathers.
Eyes and Feet: True Lutinos have pinkish-red eyes and pink feet, a hallmark of this specific genetic mutation.
The Crest: They possess a prominent, expressive crest that they raise when excited or curious and flatten when scared or angry.
Personality & Temperament
The Socialite: Cockatiels are famous for being exceptionally gentle and affectionate. They often enjoy "head scritches" and will lower their heads to ask for pets.
Whistlers, Not Talkers: While they can learn a few words, they are master mimics of whistles. Males, in particular, love to "serenade" their favorite people or even their own reflection.
Intelligence: They are smart enough to learn simple tricks and solve basic puzzles, though they are generally less demanding than larger parrot species.
